Me and my brother pancho playing with our REAL lightsabers...

Step by Step

Con paciencia y pasión That's all
I wanted to make a sequence of the progressive stes I do to color in photoshop cs2, since I've been asked many times. My technique is very usual, multiply lneart layer and color in different layers until I render da dude, the rest s just patience and passion, as everything in life

TF Mosaics I have coloured

Here are all the secuentials I have done for the TF Mosiac project. This is how I gained a lot of experience and eventually developed my own style and techniques for digital color. I got to draw and color one of them too. Anyway, here they are in chronological order.

I finally finished my aerialbots group shot.

Allright, I wanted to finish this one a looong time ago, but just could do it today. This was my entry for the IDW's forum lineart competition some months ago . I always draw having in mind the final coloured image, so my lines usually look kinda simple. I love the aerialbots and I don't see much art about'em around, so here is my humble take at the flying good bots. Specially dedicated to my dear aerialbot huge fan Cheap photocopy paper, inked with crappy markers, scanned, magic photoshop and good rock.from left to right:

Skydive: it has been said he would rather read about an aerial battle than take part in one. He's the Aerialbot's resident bookworm and is fascinated by the history and science behind aerial warfare. Within the limits of his design, he's capable of duplicating the flight patterns of anything he sees. His knowledge of aerial warfare and tactics is unmatched. Skydive is probably the most skilled Autobot flier in existence, and the fastest Arielbot. All of that, and you're more likely to find him secluded in a cozy library than actually in the sky. He's simply too modest and bookish to realize how smart and skilled he really is. Thankfully the rest of the Autobots definitely do.

Air Raid: reckless, the way he dives out of nowhere, charging enemy units head on. Air Raid would laugh at that. A rash and fearless young warrior who loves surprises (especially those that leave his foes too stunned to fight back), he has only one real goal in life: to have fun. Needless to say his attitude puts him in a lot of danger, but you can be sure he's enjoying himself the whole time.
Silverbolt: his character is defined by his extreme fear of heights and by his refusal to bow to it. He constantly struggles to project the image of a brave, determined soldier to hide his fear from others. Optimus Prime named him leader of the Aerialbots in the hopes that worrying about them would give him something else to focus on besides his own phobia. This has proven true and, not surprisingly, the mature, responsible Silverbolt makes an excellent commander.
Fireflight: combines a childlike sense of wonder with the soul of a daydreamer, resulting, unfortunately, in one major menace to airborne navigation. Near collisions and crashes come fast and frequent when he's around. If Aerialbots had to be certified to take to the air he'd have been grounded for life long ago. Fireflight means well and has a good heart, he just can't help losing himself in the beauty of the world when seen from the sky. It's hard for his teammates to get too mad at someone so filled with wonder and innocence, but at the same time it's also hard to fly next to someone who's never paying any attention to where he's going.
Slingshot is a loud-mouthed, bragging jerk. Many believe that his annoying, self-aggrandizing, and abrasive personality is a cover for his insecurities over being the smallest and weakest Aerialbot. Just as many couldn't care less and just wish he would shut up, and/or go away.

My entry for an IDW forum's coloring contest

This is my entry for the IDW forum's coloring contest. The lines are by no other than mr. Casey Coller I'm really happy with the way this one turned out, remember being just about submitting a previous version when I showed it to my friend Carlos Oliveros and he pointed out how flat it looked, I felt so bad cause I really worked hard coloring this monster, but he was right, it sucked, so in that very moment my brother Rob (one of my 3 brothers) who was online tought me some photoshop "secrets" he uses as a kickass graphic designer, and, man, it's all about details, but details make the difference in everything. thanks bro.Once I get to master those thechniques I'll do some sort of tut to explain, If anyone is interested.
